Privacy Policy

• Your account: your email address, name and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• What you write and upload: your documents, their version history, files you import (such as a PDF résumé) and notes or job postings you add for the AI assistant.
• Your career profile: the roles, skills, places and preferences you enter, used to rank jobs for you.
• Saved jobs: jobs you save, their status and your notes, including jobs saved with the browser extension (see below).
• Billing, if you subscribe: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status, not your card number.
• Basic technical data: our servers log requests (such as IP address and time) to keep the service secure and working. Your sign-in is kept in your browser’s local storage.

The extension lets you save a job you’re looking at on any site to your resum8 account.

• It reads only the tab you’re on, and only when you click the resum8 button. It doesn’t run in the background, read other tabs or see your browsing history.
• From that page it picks up the job’s title, company, location, salary, description and link, and shows them to you first. Nothing is sent until you press Save to resum8.
• When you save, those details are sent to resum8 and stored in your account, visible only to you.
• Your sign-in is kept in the extension’s own storage on your device, and it talks only to resum8 (api.resum8.xyz). Signing out removes it.

• To provide resum8: saving and exporting your documents, matching jobs to your profile, and tracking applications.
• To run the AI features you ask for, such as reviews, rewrites, tailoring for a job and cover letters.
• To send you emails about your account, such as verification and password resets.
• To keep resum8 secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.

Only the services that run resum8 for us, and only what they need:

• OpenAI, to generate AI results. When you use an AI feature, the relevant text (for example your document and a job posting) is sent to OpenAI’s API to produce the result.
• Render, which hosts our servers and database.
• Postmark, which delivers our emails.
• Stripe, which processes payments if you subscribe.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

We keep your information while you have an account. You can delete documents at any time, and you can delete your whole account in Settings, which removes your documents, profile and saved jobs.

Connections to resum8 are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to your documents requires your sign-in. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.

resum8 isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you by email for significant changes.
